Youth Talent Audtions Registration- Deadline

On January 19, 2008, the Topeka Symphony will hold the 55th annual Youth Talent Auditions.

Each year the Symphony sponsors this event to give high school students the opportunity to perform a solo with the Topeka Symphony Orchestra. Out of four areas of competition – keyboard, strings, wind and percussion instruments, and voice – one student is chosen to perform with the Topeka Symphony and the first runner up appears at the Topeka Symphony Youth Orchestra concert. The winner in each category is awarded a scholarship by Capitol Federal.

The CARE program at Valeo Behavioral Health Care is sponsoring the 4th annual "Creations of Hope" art exhibit. This is juried art exhibit open to all artists experiencing mental illness. The exhibit will be displayed through the months of Oct. and Nov. at the Upstage Gallery in downtown Topeka in celebration of Mental Illness Awareness Week.
