Topeka Art Guild (5331 SW 22nd Place - Fairlawn Plaza): Members of the Topeka Art Guild open an all new exhibit. Featured guest artists from the Thursday Afternoon Paint Along watercolor group will present 20 paintings in August. NexLynx Gallery (123 SW 6th, 2nd Floor): View nature's beauty in the photographs by Dave Horner. Dave, a nature and landscape photographer, came to Kansas thinking there would be nothing to photograph. He quickly realized Kansas was a photographer's dream and is really beautiful if you take the time to look around you. Rock out as we celebrate Elvis week with music, food & take your picture with a life-size stand up of Elvis. Bring a small school art supply donation to help local children. SouthWind Art Gallery (3074 SW 29th) has invited the men back to the gallery for our "Sons of the Prairie" exhibit, which is a follow-up to our ongoing "Daughters of the Prairie" show. NOTO Arts Center - Morris Gallery (935 N Kansas) features an exhibit entitled "Glass and Wood - A Moment" by artist April Lemon. Much of April's art is based on nature. Through her art she hopes that others are able to take that moment, to stop and step away from the demands of the world, their jobs, family and obligations. Just one moment to enjoy. Alice C. Sabatini Gallery (1515 SW 10th - Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library): See, touch and play music in the Alice C. Sabatini Gallery during "Sounds Like Art!" May 25 - Aug 19. Explore how the parts and pieces of an instrument work together to make music. Also opening this week is "On the Wing: 75 years of the Topeka Audubon Society." Marvel at the group's impressive history and its contributions to Topeka culture all while admiring artwork featuring birds by previous Topeka Audubon Society members Orville Rice and Margaret Whittemore. Prairie Glass Studio (110 SE 8th): Our cheery downtown studio is filled with beautiful fused glass art, all made by Kymm and the artists at Prairie Glass Studio. Enjoy a sneak peek of our 2018 limited edition Christmas Ornaments and our signature sunflower line. Our special guest artist for August is Knotty Bassett, a yarn and handmade shop by artist Meg Wickham. Meg will have on display, knit, dyed fiber, spun yarn, toothbrush rug and more. 50% of all sales for the day go to the Ronald McDonald House. Please come out and support this wonderful non-profit. Matryoshka Tattoo (902 N Kansas): Resident artist Jennifer Bohlander is the featured artist for August at Matryoshka. Her paintings will be on display all month long.  Jennifer has new, never seen pieces to debut.  We have small paintings for sale by Jennifer as well as signed prints. Take a picture with our life size matryoshka doll out front, tag us and use hashtag #notodollface to be entered in a drawing for a prize!   Prizes will be drawn every Friday in August. Amused (907 N Kansas): We have a real treat for August! We have brought back our all-animal themed art exposition. Join us as we pay tribute to the creatures that inhabit the planet with us. 39 West Gallery (909 N Kansas): Our interactive approach gives you a chance to listen and watch video of the artist's process, becoming more connected to the artwork on display.
