NexLynx Gallery (123 SW 6th, 2nd Fl): Our opening reception features artist Doug Frye in his series entitled "The Water's Edge.” The works in this collection are painted using palette knives. Viewing from different perspectives; upstream, downstream or just watching the river flow by, palette knifes can produce rhythm and sparkle creating a sense of fresh moving water. The thick strokes of color bring a powerful brightness to his paintings. The annual Chocolate Walk is back! Returning are our crowd favorites, the infamous chocolate waterfall and "Cocomotion" cocoa along with other tasty chocolate-inspired treats and drinks. FFAW hours are 5-8p. Topeka Art Guild & Gallery (5331 SW 22nd – Fairlawn Plaza): Need something to brighten your spirits during these dull winter months? Visit the Topeka Art Guild Gallery and their all-new exhibit. We have colorful landscapes,  florals, still life and more in a variety of works by talented local artists. Also in the gallery are glass art, gourds, pottery and original cards. Jefferson West High School art students will show their best works. Join the artists for good food and fellowship. Can't come check it out during the artwalk? Regular hours are Weds-Sat from 11a-5p. Creations of Hope Gallery (727 S Kansas): Creations of Hope Gallery is excited to present the photography of Dave Horner.  Dave states "Natural beauty can be found anywhere you are.  You just have to slow down and take a look around you." Creations of Hope Gallery is a collective of artists dedicated to the celebrating the power of the arts as a force for healing and hope. SouthWind Art Gallery (3074 SW 29th): Come see the newly-remodeled gallery during SouthWind's grand reopening! We're throwing a huge welcoming party for new owner Janet Paduh and giving long-time owner Gary Blitsch a proper send-off. Also be sure not to miss the opening for "All the Best," a tribute to all of SouthWind's artists throughout the years. Live entertainment for the party! STUDIO 831 (831 N Kansas): "Paying Homage" is an exhibit of luminous skies, a watercolor portrait and a small display of clothing that is using Diane Lawrence's designs. The sky paintings show vast expanses of brilliant and sometimes layered colors on silk. "Adam", a watercolor portrait is a careful study of some the many tattoos that were based on Diane's paintings. FFAW hours are 4-8:30p.

NOTO Arts District (935 N Kansas): The NOTO Arts Center will feature the exhibit “Sentimental Journey” in the Morris Art Gallery, a collaboration of NOTO district artists and antique / home decor shops will feature a wide array of art and vintage artifacts eclectically paired together in a one-of-a-kind exhibit that is sure to capture your heart and have you feeling nostalgic. The Arts Center will also have an exhibit of Jordan Brooks, the NOTO Featured Artist for February. Brooks was the 2015 Aaron Douglas Art Fair Featured Artist, recipient of the International Raffaello Award and received an Arty Award for his work on the Brown v. Board Mural Project in 2018. Matryoshka Tattoo (918 N Kansas): February will be our first art walk settled into our new location at 918 N Kansas! Just in time for Valentine's Day, we have new earrings and necklaces from local artist Sheila Wolf. New shirts and hats have arrived as well. Can't decide what to get your sweetie? We have gift cards. Not feeling warm and fuzzy? We have a new stock of our popular, locally made voodoo dolls and love me/love me not hearts. Fire Me Up Ceramics & Fine Art Studios (1000 N Kansas): Please join us for our ribbon cutting event at 5p and stay for the party. The studio will be up and running and classes starting Feb. 4th. Construction will continue on and off, as the front walls will be replaced with windows and more ... but we aren't going to let that slow us down! Stephen Smith Gallery (931 S Kansas): Starting February 1 through Valentine's Day, February 14, the gallery artists are providing a "sweetheart" of an offer. Joining the gallery for the month of February are two fine art photographers - Vincent Farnsworth and John Finch - bringing their unique approaches to creating imagery that fosters respect for the natural world. Select fused glass art by Stacey Utech and silver point drawings by Mike Weinbrecht will also be on display. Farnsworth's invention, Blue Pano, will be on display. Come check it out! 39 West Gallery (909 N Kansas): Journey inside the hearts and minds of artists as they share with us their most favorite piece in their collection and why. This exhibit will display the best work of local and regional artists; Kathy Pflaum Diane Wurzer Dave Horner Staci Dawn Ogle, Scott Brackey, carol williams, Ryan Ogle, Marie Plinsky, Mary Bauers, Yue Li, Robert Adams and Jim Stukey. Glaciers Edge Winery (1636 SE 85th - Wakarusa): Begin February with an evening with us! We will have the tasting porch, fireplace & patio ready for you to spend your First Friday Art Walk at the winery. Our featured entertainment will be acoustic artist Al Jolly. Lago Vista Grill will have food for sale. Enjoy wine & slushies while enjoying live music & fantastic food! (Only alcohol produced at Glaciers Edge Winery is able to be consumed on our property; guests consuming alcohol must be at least 21 years old.) Two Wolves Studio & Artist Den (114 SW 8th, 2nd Fl): Our Featured Artist this month is the talent Oshara Meesha. She has been recently recognized with an Artu Award from ARTSConnect Topeka for her involvement as an artist with the Brown v. Board Mural Project. She is an advocate of equality with countless hours of volunteering for the betterment of life in our city and country. Her art often reflects her passion for life, love and unity. SOHO Interiors (3129 SW Huntoon - Westboro Mart): SOHO Interiors is thrilled to welcome artist Yue Li this Friday, February 1. Please join us for the artist's opening reception. Yue Li is a student of painting and drawing at Washburn University. Among other accomplishments, her paintings were accepted in the 2018 Oil Painting National Exhibition. You will definitely want to see her exhibition. Come, enjoy, and meet this talented young woman. FFAW hours are 5-8p.

Prairie Glass Studio (110 SE 8th): Come out of the cold and into our warm and cozy fused glass studio. We're bringing the love for February's First Friday event. The studio is filled with beautiful glass art featuring hearts. Pick up a Valentine's gift for someone you love. We'll wrap it, of course.
