tpd Mural Project: come paint!
A community mural is exactly that: A community mural. And we can’t create a community mural without lots of hands to help. No matter your age or ability, you are invited to paint. Some of the painting requires considerable artistic skill (that’s why we have professionals, of course) - and some of the painting is simple enough for anyone to handle! We want you to be a part of this mural so that we can all participate in building the kind of community where we can all feel safe, connected and proud.
We will have two community paint days - on June 15th from 10a-2p and on June 16th from Noon-4p. The entire community is invited and encouraged to join in the fun. You can get more information about those days here.
If you are unable to attend the community paint days, the artists will generally be working on Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays from Noon-5p. Feel free to stop by and ask one of the artists to get you set up.
The artist team will be working through the month of June and the first half of July to complete the mural.
Mural painting is very dependent on the weather - if the wall is wet or if it is above 100 degrees, we may not be able to paint.
We anticipate holding a public event and dedication later in the summer to celebrate its completion. Get more information about community paint days here!
The paint we use is NOT washable and is NOT edible! (We’re looking at you, little ones….)
Safety is important. We will always try to have cold water on hand, but please consider bringing sunscreen, water and a folding chair with you to the wall.
We appreciate people under the age of 14 being accompanied by an adult.
Please park along Kansas Avenue. The parking lots directly across the street from the wall are reserved for Corita’s Corner!
Want to come at a specific time? Want to come with a group of 5 or more? Fill out the form found here and we can make arrangements.
